Steps

  1. Step 1: Add your Google Maps Platform key

ScrollEngine uses your own Google Maps Platform key for address lookups, maps and route ETAs, so Google bills that usage to your Google account. Create a key in Google Cloud with the Directions, Distance Matrix, Geocoding and Places APIs enabled, then add it in the app's API keys and integrations settings.

  2. Step 2: Check your locations

Confirm each store, warehouse or kitchen has the right address, time zone and working hours, and that delivery, pickup or both are turned on where you offer them. See Add your locations.

  3. Step 3: Set where you deliver

Skip this if you only offer pickup. Give each delivering location its zones by ZIP code, radius or an area drawn on the map, with the fee for each zone. See Set delivery zones by ZIP, radius or map.

  4. Step 4: Set up days and slots

For each location and method, turn on the days you operate and add the time slots shoppers can book. See Set up delivery date and time slots and Set up pickup time slots.

  5. Step 5: Set capacity, cutoffs and blackout dates

Set how many orders each day and each slot can take, how much notice you need, your same-day cutoff and the days you're closed. See Set slot capacity limits and Set cutoffs, prep time and blackout dates.

  6. Step 6: Turn on the widget in your theme

Turn on the app embed in your live theme and choose where the widget appears: cart page, cart drawer or product page. See Add the delivery and pickup widget to your theme.

  7. Step 7: Place a test order

Shop your own storefront in a private window. Choose delivery or pickup, a location, a date and a slot, then check out. Confirm the order appears in ScrollEngine with the method, location, date and slot you chose.

  8. Step 8: If you deliver: add drivers and plan a route

Invite your drivers, have them install the driver app, then plan a route from your test order. Turn on customer notifications so shoppers hear when their order is on the way.
