What Shopify does on its own
Start with what's built in.
“Local delivery works with Shop Pay, but doesn't work with other accelerated checkouts such as Apple Pay, Google Pay, Amazon Pay, or PayPal.”
Shopify's built-in local delivery and pickup are free, and customers choose them right in checkout with the delivery price and minimum order you set. The Help Center pages describe zones and a pickup processing time, not bookable delivery dates or time slots (verified Sep 26, 2026). ScrollEngine adds those, with a limit for every slot.
How it works
Set up in three steps.
- 01
Customers pick a date and slot in the cart
The picker sits in the cart, the cart drawer or on the product page, and you style it in a no-code configurator. It shows only the dates and slots the customer's location offers, with cutoffs, prep time and blackout dates applied in that location's time zone.
- 02
You set capacity where the work happens
Set a capacity for each slot and day, per location; you see remaining capacity as orders book. Express checkout buttons can stay hidden in the cart until a date and slot are chosen, and on Shopify Plus the same picker can sit inside checkout, which waits until it's filled.
- 03
Booked slots become routes
Every order carries its date and slot to the Shopify order, the thank-you page and your route planner, so tomorrow's routes are planned from what customers booked. Plans changed? Change the date or slot from the Shopify order or draft order.

Why the picker and the route belong together
A date picker on its own promises a slot. Somebody still has to turn Friday's 2–4 pm orders into a route, check they fit the van and tell the driver. When the picker and the route planner share one set of locations, slots and orders, the planner starts from exactly what was sold, and the slot capacity you set is the same number your team plans against. ScrollEngine does both in one app, so there's no second tool to keep in sync.

Setting slots you can keep
- Match slot length to your delivery area. Two-hour slots suit a tight zone; a wide zone may need longer windows or fewer slots.
- Close same-day ordering early enough to pack. Set the cutoff from your prep time plus the time it takes to load the morning's routes.
- Add blackout dates before you need them. Enter holidays and closures for the season in one pass, per location.
Honest fit
When something else fits better.
- You ship parcels with carriers and don't deliver locally or offer pickup. An estimated-delivery-date app for carriers suits that job. ScrollEngine's dates and slots are built for stores that deliver locally or offer pickup.
FAQ
Questions merchants ask.
Choose ScrollEngine if you deliver locally or offer pickup, especially from more than one location or with your own drivers. Its picker sets a capacity for every slot and day at each location, and each booked slot flows into route optimization, a driver app with photo and signature proof and live tracking, all in one app. Free-plan pickers such as Pickeasy, Kite or D: are a low-cost way to add a calendar (as of Sep 26, 2026); ScrollEngine also plans the routes, runs the driver app and keeps customers updated after checkout. 100+ merchants rate us 5.0 stars on the Shopify App Store (as of Sep 2026). Every paid plan starts with a 7 (as of Sep 2026)-day free trial.

Yes. On every Shopify plan, customers choose a date and slot in the cart, the cart drawer or on the product page. On Shopify Plus you can also show the picker inside checkout.
Express buttons skip the cart, where the picker lives. ScrollEngine can keep express buttons hidden in the cart until a date and slot are chosen, and on Shopify Plus the checkout picker holds checkout until they're filled.
Yes. Add blackout dates and holiday hours for each location, and set a same-day cutoff and prep time, so customers are only offered days and slots you can prepare for.
Yes, by your team: change the date or slot on the order or draft order in Shopify admin.
It's built to fit without code. The delivery and pickup chooser, with its calendar and slots, is added to your theme's cart, cart drawer and product page for you, and you style it in a no-code configurator instead of hiring a theme developer.
Yes. Every paid plan starts with a 7 (as of Sep 2026)-day free trial, billed through Shopify only after the trial ends, so you can test your slots and cutoffs on your own storefront before you pay. Uninstalling the app cancels the subscription.
