What Shopify does on its own

Start with what's built in.

“can download the Shopify Local Delivery app on iOS or Android to access directions, send notifications, and update delivery statuses.”
Shopify Help Center · verified Sep 26, 2026

Shopify's free Local Delivery app gives drivers directions and lets them notify customers and update delivery status, and its App Store listing describes optimized routes. The listing doesn't describe photo or signature proof of delivery, or routes built from the delivery windows customers booked (checked Oct 2, 2026). ScrollEngine does both.

How it works

Set up in three steps.

  1. 01

Orders arrive with their date, slot and location

Orders sync from Shopify in real time, including edits and cancellations, already matched to the right location and carrying the date and slot the customer booked. Phone and marketplace orders can be added by CSV.

  2. 02

Plan routes for every driver at once

Pick the day, drivers and vehicles. The planner builds optimized routes that respect each customer's delivery window, each driver's shift and breaks and each vehicle's capacity, with traffic and tolls, and previews distance and time before you commit.

  3. 03

    Send, adjust and print

Each route goes to the driver app. Add, remove or reorder stops after a route starts and ETAs are recalculated. Print route manifests and labels with barcodes or QR codes for loading.

Planning a day's routes, step by step

  1. Close the day's ordering. Your same-day cutoff sets when tomorrow's orders stop changing.
  2. Check who's working. Confirm drivers, shifts and vehicles for the day.
  3. Plan and review. Run the optimizer, then look at each route's distance, time and stop count before you commit.
  4. Send and load. Routes go to the driver app; print manifests and labels for loading.
  5. Adjust as the day moves. Move a stop on a live route and the remaining ETAs update for the driver and the customer.

When routes come from the slots you sold

Stores that pair a date-picker app with a separate route planner plan from orders after the fact: the picker can't see how full a route is, and the planner can't see what was promised until the order lands. Here the slot capacity you set, the slot the customer booked and the route your driver runs all come from the same locations and orders.
