Effective Version 0.1

On this page

⟦LEGAL⟧ Working draft for counsel review. Not in effect. This text was prepared for counsel under gate G5 (00 §2.2) from the site's consent design. It will be replaced by the signed text before it is published.

Open points for counsel: the regional policy packs and the jurisdiction rule below; whether cookieless page-view counts are essential in opt-in regions; the cookie names and lifetimes table, once engineering exports it from the consent tool.

1. What this policy covers

This policy covers scrollengine.com, run by Scrollengine Labs Private Limited (as of Sep 2026). Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser; similar technologies, such as local storage and tracking scripts, work in much the same way. We use the word "cookies" for all of them here.

The ScrollEngine app, web dashboard, driver app and tracking pages are covered by our privacy policy.

2. What loads before you choose

  • In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, nothing non-essential loads until you choose. You'll see a banner with three equal choices: Accept all, Reject non-essential, or Choose.
  • In the US and other regions, analytics load after the page has finished loading, and we tell you so. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as an opt-out and they don't load at all. The Your privacy choices link in the footer lets you opt out at any time.

3. The cookies we use

  • Strictly necessary. Always on. Security, load balancing and remembering your cookie choice. The site can't work without them.
  • Analytics. Off by default where consent is required. Counts visits and clicks so we can see which pages help. Collected with PostHog (EU cloud) and Google Analytics.
  • Session replay. Off by default where consent is required. Records how pages are used, with every form field masked, so we can fix confusing pages. Collected with PostHog.
  • Page-view counts. Vercel Web Analytics counts page views and page speed without cookies and without custom events.
  • Advertising. We don't use advertising cookies on scrollengine.com today. If that changes, we'll add a separate choice for them here and in the settings, off by default.

4. Changing your choices

Open Cookie settings in the site footer at any time to change or withdraw your choices. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings; strictly necessary cookies are needed for the site to work properly.

5. Changes to this policy

When we change this policy, we'll post the new version on this page with a new effective date and version number.
