Locations & Rules
Send every order to the location that can keep the promise.
ScrollEngine's rules engine sends every order, including orders imported by CSV or API, to the store or warehouse that can keep its promise, by ZIP, drawn zone, radius, region, tags and location priority.

The problem
The wrong store makes a promise it can't keep.
Without location rules, an order lands wherever the storefront defaults. The flagship gets the suburb's orders, a store that closes at six takes a seven o'clock slot, and a phone order never reaches the planner at all. Someone moves it by hand, if they catch it in time.
How it works
From the promise to the proof, step by step.
- 01You
Set where and when each location serves.
Give every store and warehouse its hours, time zone and priority, then draw its delivery zones as polygons or import the zones you already have as KML or KMZ files.
- Locations and delivery zonesLive
- 02Rule
Every order is classified and matched.
Each order is classified as local delivery, pickup or shipping, then matched to a location by ZIP or postcode, drawn zone, radius, region, tags and location priority.
- Delivery-method classificationLive
- Fulfillment-location rules engineLive
- 03Rule
The promising location fulfills it.
Fulfill-from-matched-location keeps the order at the location that made the promise, and fulfillment syncs both ways with Shopify, including edits and cancellations.
- Fulfill from the matched locationLive
- Two-way Shopify fulfillment syncLive
- 04Rule
Every channel follows the same rules.
Orders created manually, by CSV, including Amazon Seller Central exports, or from Adobe Commerce, WooCommerce, BigCommerce and other platforms follow the same rules. Addresses are geocoded automatically on your own Google Maps key, and subscription orders from Recharge, Bold and Recurpay land on days you deliver.

What to measure
Metrics we define before we promise them.
- Share fulfilled by the promising location. Local orders fulfilled by the location that made the promise, as a share of all local orders. Measured in a Promise Audit.
- Manual re-assignments per 100 orders. Orders moved to another location by hand after they were placed, per 100 local orders. Measured in a Promise Audit.
FAQ
Questions, answered.
Order routing rules decide which store or warehouse fulfills each order. In ScrollEngine they match orders by ZIP or postcode, drawn zone, radius, region, tags and location priority, so each order goes to the location that can keep its delivery or pickup promise.
No. ScrollEngine matches each order to a location with its own rules engine and fulfills it from the matched location. It doesn't use Shopify's Order Routing API, which is also why the same rules apply to orders imported by CSV or API.
Yes, as KML or KMZ files, which most mapping tools export, or you can draw zones as polygons on the map.
