Saturday morning looks open until forty orders land in a window your team can fill twelve times, a shopper outside your zone books a slot you can't reach, and an express button skips the date entirely. Each location's calendar applies its own cutoffs, prep time, blackout dates, holidays and time zone. Set a capacity for each slot and day, per store; you see remaining capacity as orders book.

Checkout follows the method.
Rates follow order value or weight, per zone or rule, and shipping and payment options follow the method, for example cash on delivery only for local delivery. The cart checkout gate hides express buttons until a slot is chosen; on Shopify Plus, a picker inside checkout blocks checkout until it's filled.

What to measure
Metrics we define before we promise them.
- Checkout completion on local-eligible sessions. Sessions with an address a location can serve that end in an order, divided by all such sessions.
- Local option attach rate. Orders that choose local delivery or pickup, as a share of orders whose address and cart could have.
- Slot Fill. Capacity sold ÷ capacity offered, by location and slot. Measured in a Promise Audit.
- Undeliverable-order refunds. Orders refunded because the address or the slot could not be served, per 100 local orders. Measured in a Promise Audit.

Delivery slot management software lets shoppers choose a delivery or pickup date and time window before they pay, and controls how many orders each window takes. In ScrollEngine you set capacity, cutoffs, prep time and blackout dates per location, in each location's time zone, and see remaining capacity as orders book.
Only for a picker inside checkout itself. On any Shopify store, shoppers choose the method, date and slot in the cart, the cart drawer or the product page. On Shopify Plus, a date and time picker inside checkout also blocks checkout until it's filled. Both use the same slots, capacity and rules.
Not from the cart: the cart checkout gate hides express buttons until a slot is chosen. A guard for express wallets on other checkout paths is on our roadmap.
Yes. Rates can depend on order value or weight, per zone or rule, and shipping and payment options can follow the delivery method, for example cash on delivery only for local delivery.
Yes. On Shopify, shoppers book slots in the storefront and, on Shopify Plus, inside checkout. ScrollEngine also integrates with Adobe Commerce, WooCommerce, BigCommerce and other platforms, so their orders run on the same locations, routes, drivers and tracking.
