5 Shopify Local Delivery and Pickup Apps Compared

Most Shopify local delivery and pickup apps do one of two jobs. Scheduling apps (Zapiet, Pickeasy and Bird) let customers choose delivery or pickup, a date and a time slot, and cap how many orders each slot takes. Routing apps (EasyRoutes) turn orders into driver routes, with a driver app and tracking. ScrollEngine, our app, does both jobs in one app, so the slot a customer books, the store that fulfills it and the driver's route all live on the same order.

How we compared

We judged each app on the jobs a local delivery and pickup operation has to do every day:

1. The promise at checkout. Can customers choose delivery or pickup, a date and a time slot, and does each slot have a limit?
2. The right location. Can it serve several stores or warehouses, each with its own zones, hours and pickup times?
3. The delivery itself. Does it plan routes, give drivers an app and capture proof of delivery, or does that need a second app?
4. Keeping customers informed. Tracking links, ETAs and messages by email, SMS or WhatsApp.
5. Cost as you grow. How the price changes with orders, locations and drivers, and how many apps you pay for.

1. ScrollEngine (our app): scheduling, pickup and delivery in one app

ScrollEngine is listed on the Shopify App Store as Local Delivery + Pickup Date:S. Customers choose local delivery, store pickup or shipping in the cart, confirm their address is served, and book a date and slot from the serving location's calendar, with the capacity you set for each slot and day. After the order, the same app plans the routes, runs the driver app and sends tracking links, so nothing is re-keyed between apps.

2. Zapiet: a long-standing pickup and delivery scheduler

Zapiet - Pickup + Delivery adds "a date and time picker for in-store pickup, local delivery and shipping" and manages all three from one dashboard.

Where it's strong

• One picker for pickup, local delivery and shipping.
• Shopify POS sync, and product preparation times from its Advanced plan.

Where ScrollEngine goes further

• Routes and drivers in the same app. For routes and drivers, Zapiet's route optimization page says to "integrate instantly with one of our route optimization partners", such as Onfleet, Shipday and EasyRoutes (checked Oct 4, 2026). ScrollEngine plans the routes and runs the driver app from the same slots, with no second app to connect.
• Beyond Shopify. Zapiet's own site says "Zapiet is Shopify-only" (zapiet.com, checked Oct 4, 2026). ScrollEngine integrates with Shopify, Adobe Commerce, WooCommerce, BigCommerce and other platforms.

3. Pickeasy: low-cost delivery and pickup scheduling

Pickup Delivery Date Pickeasy, by Logbase, is a scheduling app for delivery and pickup dates and time slots.

Where it's strong

• A free plan for one location and up to 10 orders a month.
• Product-specific prep time and availability, with cut-off times and blocked dates.

Where ScrollEngine goes further

• The delivery itself. Logbase's own Pickeasy vs Zapiet page says "Pickeasy doesn't offer fleet management or last-mile delivery" (checked Oct 4, 2026). ScrollEngine plans routes for your drivers, runs a driver app with photo proof and sends live tracking, so the slot a customer books goes straight onto a driver's route.
• More ways to reach customers. Pickeasy notifies by email, and Logbase's comparison lists SMS as not available. ScrollEngine sends email, SMS and WhatsApp updates, with a tracking page and a live ETA.

4. EasyRoutes: routes and drivers, scheduling through a second app

EasyRoutes, by Roundtrip, is a route planner that builds optimized routes from Shopify orders and sends them to its driver app.

Where it's strong

• Route planning is its core product, and its Premium plan can create routes automatically on a custom schedule.
• A free plan for one driver, up to 50 orders a month and 10 stops per route.

Where ScrollEngine goes further

• Slots and pickup built in. For dates and time slots at checkout, EasyRoutes relies on a second app: its FAQ says it "reads the delivery date and time window from your Shopify orders", as a date picker such as Roundtrip's own Supertime or Zapiet saved them (checked Oct 4, 2026). For pickup, its help center says "in-store pickups aren't a native feature". ScrollEngine has delivery and pickup slots, with a capacity per slot and per day, in the same app as the routes.
• WhatsApp updates. EasyRoutes' help center says it "does not natively support sending order updates and notifications directly via WhatsApp" (checked Oct 4, 2026). ScrollEngine sends WhatsApp updates next to email and SMS.

5. Bird: pickup and delivery scheduling for one to twenty locations

Bird is a pickup and delivery scheduler for Shopify, with plans by order volume and number of locations.

Where it's strong

• Pickup and delivery dates and time slots with prep times and cut-offs, and order limits per slot, day or hour.
• A widget in more than 90 languages.

Where ScrollEngine goes further

• Routes, drivers and live tracking in one app. For routes and drivers, Bird's integrations page lists partner apps: EasyRoutes for route optimization, and apps such as Shipday to "dispatch to your own drivers" (checked Oct 4, 2026). ScrollEngine plans routes for several drivers, runs a driver app with photo and signature proof, and shows every driver on a live map.

What Shopify gives you for free

Before you install anything, here's what Shopify already covers (Help Center, checked Oct 4, 2026):

• Local delivery: up to 10 delivery zones per location, by postal code or distance, each with a delivery price and an optional minimum order price.
• Pickup in store: set up per location, with a processing time and pickup instructions; customers get a Ready for pickup email when you mark the order ready.
• Not included: bookable delivery or pickup dates and time slots, or a limit per slot.

That works for one store, a flat fee and a "ready in 2 hours" promise. Once customers need to choose when, or you have more orders than one slot can take, you need an app.

One app or two?

Pairing a scheduler (Zapiet, Pickeasy or Bird) with a router (EasyRoutes, or one of Zapiet's partners) is a common setup: Zapiet lists EasyRoutes as a routing partner, and EasyRoutes lists Zapiet among the apps it works with. It works, but it means two plans, two sets of locations and hours to keep in sync, and one more place for a slot to go missing between checkout and the driver's route.

ScrollEngine keeps the slot, the location and the route on the same record. Each store's hours and slot limits are set once and shared by the cart, checkout and Shopify admin, and the routes start from the slots customers booked.

How to choose in four questions

1. Do you run your own drivers? Yes: you need routing and a driver app, and ScrollEngine has both next to the slots. Not yet: you still need dates, slot limits and pickup, and ScrollEngine covers those, with routes ready when you add drivers.
2. How many locations? Every store should have its own zones, hours and slot limits. ScrollEngine also uses location rules to send each order to the right store.
3. How many orders a month at peak? Several scheduling plans cap monthly orders, so price your busiest month, and add the cost of a second app if routing isn't built in.
4. Are you on Shopify Plus? If you want the picker inside checkout itself, you need Plus. ScrollEngine's cart widget works on every Shopify plan.
