The Shopify Local Delivery Tools You Actually Need
Most Shopify stores need five local delivery tools: zones and rates, a date and time slot picker with limits…
Insights
ScrollEngine, our app, does the whole job in one app: delivery slots at checkout, optimized routes and a driver app. EasyRoutes, Routific and Route4Me plan routes after the order; Zapiet books dates and routes through partners.

ScrollEngine is our product; competitor details were checked on their own pages on October 4, 2026.
If you deliver with your own drivers, these five apps cover the main ways Shopify stores plan routes, and they fall into three groups:
The difference shows up every morning. With two apps, the slot has to travel from the picker to the router on every order. In ScrollEngine it's already on the route.
| App | Delivery date and slot picker | Route optimization | Driver app and proof of delivery | How it charges (Oct 4, 2026) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| ScrollEngine (ours) | Built in: dates and slots in the cart, with a capacity per slot and per day | Built in: several drivers, time windows, shifts, breaks and vehicle capacity | Built in: iOS and Android; photo, signature, notes and cash on delivery | Slots, routes and the driver app in one app; free trial of 7 days |
| EasyRoutes | A separate date-picker app, such as Roundtrip's Supertime or Zapiet | Built in; planning around time windows on its Premium plan | Built in: iOS and Android; photo and e-signature proof and barcode scans on its Premium plan | Free for one driver and 50 orders a month; paid plans per driver seat, plus a date-picker app |
| Routific | Takes in orders from your store as they're placed | Built in, in its own web app | Built in: driver apps with proof of delivery | Free up to 100 orders a month, then by monthly order volume |
| Route4Me | Route planning software: "Industrial Grade Route Planning And Route Optimization Software", in its own words | Built in | Built in: iPhone and Android, with signature and photo capture | Each plan quoted by its sales team |
| Zapiet | Built in: pickup, local delivery and shipping | Through partner apps | Through the fleet management partner you connect | By locations and monthly orders, plus a routing partner |
A list of stops in a sensible order is not the same as a plan your drivers can keep. Before you compare apps, check each one against these points:
ScrollEngine is a delivery and pickup app for Shopify and Shopify Plus, listed on the Shopify App Store as Local Delivery + Pickup Date:S. It starts before the order: customers check their address by ZIP, full address or map pin, then book a date and time slot from the serving location's calendar, where you set a capacity for each slot and day. Those orders become optimized routes, drivers run them in the ScrollEngine driver app, and customers follow along on a tracking page.

A good fit for: stores that sell delivery slots at checkout and run their own drivers, especially from more than one location.
EasyRoutes, by Roundtrip, describes itself on its App Store listing as "a local delivery app for planning & managing optimized delivery routes, dispatching drivers, and keeping customers informed."

Routific calls itself "delivery management for growing businesses". You plan routes in Routific's web app, and drivers run them in its driver apps.

Route4Me describes itself as "Industrial Grade Route Planning And Route Optimization Software" built to "Simplify Last Mile Transportation".

Pricing: each Route4Me plan is quoted by its sales team, per its pricing page (checked Oct 4, 2026).
Zapiet - Pickup + Delivery is a long-standing Shopify scheduling app. Its listing says it can "add a date and time picker for in-store pickup, local delivery and shipping".

Shopify's built-in local delivery lets you set delivery zones by postal code or distance (up to 10 zones per location), with a delivery price and an optional minimum order. Shopify's free Local Delivery app for iOS and Android lets your team create and share optimized delivery routes, send notifications and update delivery statuses. That works well for one driver and a short list of stops.
You've outgrown it when:
ScrollEngine handles each of these in one app: routes for several drivers, booked slots as time windows, location rules for every store, photo and signature proof with cash-on-delivery records, and a tracking page with live ETAs.
For a Shopify store that delivers locally with its own drivers, ScrollEngine is the stronger choice. Pick it for:
Route planners plan the route after the order, and schedulers sell the slot. ScrollEngine does both jobs on the same order, in one app.

The fastest way to judge a route planner is to load one real day of orders and plan it. ScrollEngine's paid plans start with a free trial of 7 days, so you can set up a location, book a few test slots and optimize a route before you pay.

FAQ
If customers book a delivery time at checkout, use an app where the routes start from the booked slot. ScrollEngine has the slot picker, route optimization for several drivers and a driver app in one app, so the slot a customer books becomes that stop's time window. Route planners such as EasyRoutes and Routific plan routes after the order: EasyRoutes reads the delivery date and time window that a separate date-picker app saves on each order, and Routific takes in new orders as they're placed (their own pages, Oct 4, 2026). See EasyRoutes vs ScrollEngine.
Partly. Shopify's free Local Delivery app for iOS and Android lets you create and share optimized delivery routes, send notifications and update delivery statuses (shopify.com, checked Oct 4, 2026). That page doesn't describe time windows, shifts or vehicle capacity, and Shopify's Help Center doesn't describe bookable delivery dates or time slots. ScrollEngine adds all of these, plus a driver app with photo and signature proof.
Yes. In ScrollEngine, every order carries the date and slot booked in the cart, and route optimization can treat each booked slot as that stop's time window, alongside shifts, breaks and vehicle capacity (route constraints depend on your plan). With a separate date picker and router, you have to check that the slot is saved on the order in a field the router reads, such as an order tag or attribute, on every order.
It depends on how each app charges (as of Oct 4, 2026). EasyRoutes has a free plan for one driver and 50 orders a month, prices its paid plans per driver seat, and takes checkout slots from a separate date-picker app with its own plan. Routific is free up to 100 orders a month, then charges by monthly order volume. Zapiet charges by locations and monthly orders, and routes through partner apps. EasyRoutes vs ScrollEngine and Zapiet vs ScrollEngine list their prices, sourced and dated. ScrollEngine covers slots, routes and the driver app in one app, and its paid plans start with a free trial of 7 days.
Once you have more than one driver, or you need proof that an order arrived, yes. A driver app gives each driver their stops in order, records status changes that update the customer, and captures proof such as a photo or signature. ScrollEngine's driver app also records cash on delivery and lets drivers call or WhatsApp the customer from the stop. EasyRoutes, Routific and Route4Me include a driver app too. Zapiet's help center says its delivery orders are "automatically sent" to "the fleet management provider of your choice" (checked Oct 4, 2026).
