Shopify local delivery not showing at checkout? 9 causes and fixes
Local delivery shows at Shopify checkout only when the address is inside your delivery area, Google can verify it, one location can fulfill the whole cart and the customer isn't using an express checkout other than Shop Pay.
The Shopify rule
What Shopify says.
“Local delivery works with Shop Pay, but doesn't work with other accelerated checkouts such as Apple Pay, Google Pay, Amazon Pay, or PayPal.”
The built-in way
Do it with Shopify's own settings first.
Check that the address is inside your delivery area
Open Settings › Shipping and delivery › Local delivery and check the zones for the location. Shopify allows up to 10 zones per location, a radius of up to 100 miles (160 km) and postal code lists of up to 3,000 characters, and the radius doesn't extend into other countries. Add the missing postal codes or widen the radius.
Make sure Google can verify the address
Local delivery is offered only for an address Google can verify. Ask the customer to recheck the street, unit number and postal code, then test the same cart with an address you know is in your zone.
Check that one location can fulfill the whole cart
Every item in the order must come from a single location that offers local delivery. If one item is stocked only at a location without local delivery, the option won't appear for the whole order. Move stock, or turn on local delivery at that location.
Confirm local delivery is on for that location
Local delivery is set up per location. Check that the location holding the stock has local delivery turned on, is active and fulfills online orders.
Check the zone's minimum order and price rules
Each zone can carry a minimum order price, plus up to 3 additional price-based rules. A cart below the minimum won't see local delivery for that zone. Lower the minimum, or show customers the threshold in the cart.
Look for express checkout buttons
Local delivery works with Shop Pay but not with Apple Pay, Google Pay, Amazon Pay or PayPal accelerated checkouts. A customer who taps one of those buttons won't see local delivery; standard checkout or Shop Pay will show it.
Check for a cart that mixes shipping and delivery
Customers can't have some items shipped and others locally delivered on the same order. If a cart mixes an item you only ship with one you only deliver, local delivery won't appear. Make both available for delivery, or ask the customer to place two orders.
Check whether it's a B2B checkout
B2B checkouts don't support local delivery, so wholesale customers ordering through B2B checkout won't see it. Plan another delivery method for those customers.
Rule out a shipping app conflict
Shopify notes that third-party shipping apps might conflict with its local delivery method. Turn off recently added shipping or rates apps one at a time, and test the same address and cart after each change.

Check the address in the cart
The cart widget checks the address by ZIP, full address or map pin before the customer reaches checkout, so an address outside your zones is caught in the cart, not at payment.
Show delivery dates and slots before checkout
Customers choose local delivery, a date and a time slot in the cart, the cart drawer or on the product page, and express checkout buttons can stay hidden until a slot is chosen.
Set zones and rates for each location
Zones by ZIP list, radius, drawn area or KML import, with delivery rates by order value or weight for each zone, so each location offers delivery only where it can reach.

What Shopify's Help Center says
These rules explain most "local delivery not showing" reports. Each is quoted from Shopify's Help Center.
You can add up to 10 delivery zones per location.
The maximum delivery radius is 160 kilometers or 100 miles.
Customers can't choose to have some items shipped and some items locally delivered on the same order.
B2B checkouts don't support local delivery.
Using any third-party shipping apps might conflict with Shopify's local delivery method.

A fast way to find the cause
Test in this order, using the customer's exact address and cart:
- Swap in an address you know you serve. If local delivery appears, the problem is the address: zone, radius, postal code list or Google verification.
- Remove items one at a time. If it appears when one item is gone, that item is stocked at a location without local delivery, or it's a ship-only item.
- Check the cart total against the zone's minimum. If a bigger cart shows it, the minimum order price is the cause.
- Use standard checkout. If it appears there but not after an express button, it's the express checkout rule.
- Turn off shipping apps one by one. If it appears with an app off, that app conflicts.
What Shopify's built-in local delivery doesn't do
It's free and dependable for simple zones. It doesn't let customers book a delivery date or time slot, it has no limit on orders per day or slot, and anyone who prepares or marks deliveries needs access to your Shopify admin. Local delivery orders also don't get carrier tracking events:
Local delivery orders don't generate carrier tracking events in Shopify, so these notifications don't apply to local delivery.

FAQ
Common questions.
Usually the address or the cart. The address is outside your zones or radius, Google can't verify it, or an item in that customer's cart is stocked at a location without local delivery. Test the exact address with the same cart to find which.
Not through the express buttons. Shopify's Help Center says local delivery works with Shop Pay but not with Apple Pay, Google Pay, Amazon Pay or PayPal accelerated checkouts (verified Sep 26, 2026).
Not per location in Shopify's built-in local delivery: the Help Center sets a limit of 10 zones per location (verified Sep 26, 2026). You can add delivery at another location, or use an app that manages zones itself; ScrollEngine sets zones per location by ZIP list, radius, drawn area or KML import.
Not natively. Shopify's local delivery pages describe zones, prices and minimum orders, not delivery dates or time slots (verified Sep 26, 2026). A date picker app adds them to the cart.
Not carrier tracking events. Shopify's Help Center says local delivery orders don't generate carrier tracking events, so those notifications don't apply (verified Sep 26, 2026). A delivery app with a tracking page and SMS or email updates fills that gap.
