Goswasthya, an organic farm-to-table food brand that sells on Shopify, uses ScrollEngine's proof of pickup to record every collection from its partner farms. At each handover, the driver captures a photo, the supplier's signature and documents such as weighbridge slips in the driver app. As published by ScrollEngine, supplier disputes dropped by 98%, and manual reconciliation time dropped from 8–10 hours per week to under 1 hour.

The short version

  • Customer: Goswasthya, an organic food brand that makes flours and ghee to order, from ingredients sourced directly from local farms.
  • The problem: no proof of what was collected at farm pickups, frequent supplier disputes, and hours of manual reconciliation.
  • What they set up: proof of pickup in the ScrollEngine driver app, with a photo, the supplier's signature and an additional document at every farm handover.
  • Results, as published: Supplier disputes dropped by 98%; manual reconciliation time dropped from 8–10 hours per week to under 1 hour; inventory visibility shifted from 24-hour delays to instant updates.

The challenge: purity meets complexity

Goswasthya built its reputation on a simple promise: "100% Clean | No Chemical | No Preservatives." Every product, from freshly milled flours to hand-churned ghee, is made to order with ingredients sourced directly from trusted local farms.

As the brand grew, its manual procurement and pickup paperwork couldn't keep pace. With no verification at the farm and no shared record between suppliers and drivers, Goswasthya faced three problems:

  • Authenticity risk: there was no digital proof that the ingredients collected from a farm matched the organic quality the brand promises.
  • Supplier disputes: quantities often didn't match, and the documents from farm pickups and mill receipts didn't line up.
  • Operational delays: manual reconciliation and paperwork slowed production and next-day deliveries.

The task was to scale up without putting product purity or customer trust at risk.

What Goswasthya set up: proof of pickup at every farm

Working with ScrollEngine, Goswasthya brought its first mile, the leg from farm to mill, into the same system as its deliveries. Farm collections run as pickups in Local Delivery + Pickup Date:S, and proof of pickup is switched on in the driver app. At every handover:

  • Photo: the driver photographs what was collected at the pickup point.
  • Supplier signature: the supplier signs on the driver's phone to confirm the handover, so quantity and quality questions are settled on the spot.
  • Documents: the driver captures weighbridge slips, certificates of origin and invoices as additional documents, uploaded with the pickup.

Each item can be optional or mandatory; a mandatory one has to be captured before the driver completes the pickup. The pickup and its proof then sit in the shipment's history, so the team can see what was collected, from where and by whom.

The setup fits into Goswasthya's existing Shopify workflow and replaced a fragmented, paper-based process with a digital record of every pickup.

Questions, answered.

What is proof of pickup?

Proof of pickup is a record, captured when goods are collected, that confirms what was handed over, by whom and when. In ScrollEngine's driver app it can include a photo, the supplier's signature and an additional document such as a weighbridge slip or an invoice, and each can be set as optional or mandatory.

How does proof of pickup reduce supplier disputes?

Both sides agree on the handover at the moment it happens: the supplier signs for what was collected, the driver photographs it, and the paperwork is captured with it. When a quantity is questioned later, the team checks one shared record instead of reconciling paper slips.

What is the difference between proof of pickup and proof of delivery?

Proof of pickup is captured at the collection point, such as a farm or a supplier, at the start of the journey. Proof of delivery is captured at the customer's door at the end. ScrollEngine sets them up separately, each with its own photo, signature and document options.
